how do I insert a new gadget in to Windows Vista side bar ?

Assuming that you have sidebar up right now, there should be a “+” sign on the top of the side bar. Click on that and it will have a selection of gadgets for you to add. The ones that you downloaded should have shown up in that section. I could be wrong though.
