This coffee cafe had an excellent Hazelnut Torte Cake. I am specifically looking for a similar recipe to what was served in this cafe during the 1980′s.
There are (4) Comments for the What happened to the New York Cafe in the Century Mall in Chicago during the 1980′s?

There was a recipe in the Chicago Tribune around 1985. My husband made it once. It was very rich. I will look and find the recipe.

Unfortunately, the whole Century Mall changed about 6 or 7 years ago. It’s just not near as wonderful as it used to be.

Man I forgot about that place
I’m pretty sure that cake came from a bakery that used to be on Dearborn just north of Elm street, you walked down stairs to the front door, I can’t remember the name of it, or the guy’s name who owned it
